THORNTON Airman 1st Class Michael Adamson runs his hands along the crisply folded lines of the American Flag near the end of the funeral service demonstration Monday afternoon at the Little Rock Air Force Base. Airmen leave their regular base job to train and serve on the guard for 180 days, conducting funerals and other ceremonies throughout Arkansas and parts of western Tennessee. Honor guard teams from the air base performed almost 800 military funerals in 2010.
