Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/RICK MCFARLAND --05/08/12-- Diners sit next to the window in the newly renovated restaurant in Mather Lodge in Petit Jean State Park Tuesday, the first day it opened to the public. The lodge had been closed to complete a $4.3 million set of improvements , including a pool and a new restaurant that places diners along panoramic windows overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon. The 2,600 acre-state park opened in the 1930s, making it the oldest in the Arkansas system.
