Title: CATTLE DROUGHT1
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/BENJAMIN KRAIN --7/10/2012-- Buddy Smith moves cattle into a penning area Tuesday at Lewis Livestock Auction Co. in Conway. Lewis Livestock has seen the head count of cattle sold in their auctions this summer more than double over previous years. The severe drought in Arkansas has forced many of the state's cattle farmers to sell more cows and calves at a much lower weight than normal because there is no grass or hay growing to feed them.
