JOURNEY KAIA CLARK, born December 12, 2010, daughter of Bradford Clark and Heather Perry, passed away on December 26, 2010. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Madison and Layla and brother, Foster. Journey was a shining star to all who knew her. She brought joy and love to many through her life and death. She will be missed by all whose lives she blessed. EARL LEMART COLEMAN, 96, of Little Rock departed this life Dec. 24, 2010. Earl once served as deacon at Lewis St. Church of Christ, he was a song leader, loved puzzles, and was mechanically inclined. THOMAS EUGENE DENNIS, 77, of Little Rock, died Dec. 27, 2010.He was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Magnolia, Ark., the son of Sidney Eugene and Claudia Williamson Dennis. He was a graduate of Magnolia High School and Louisiana Tech University, where he earned a degree in agricultural engineering. He was employed for 36 years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, with assignments in the Hamburg, Lake Village and Little Rock offices.

He was Assistant State Conservationist for Watershed Resources when he retired in 1990.

He was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Bobbye H. Dennis; two sons, Robert E. Dennis of Little Rock and James T. Dennis of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Lindsey Dennis, Sidney Dennis, Thomas Dennis and Pearson Dennis.

Visitation is planned for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lynn Lindsey officiating. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

BILLY WARD “BILL” HEINLEY, 82, of Little Rock, Ark .,died Monday December 27, 2010. Mr. Heinley was born in Fordyce, Ark., on September 8, 1928 to the late Bertha Turner and Edward Heinley. After graduation from college, Bill entered into education as a high school teacher, later becoming a principal, superintendent and retired from the position of director of elementary education for the state of Arkansas. He enjoyed traveling, and one of his passions was golf. He was a starter at Chenal Country Club, a Junior golf instructor at Rebsamen and a member of the Little Rock Athletic Club. He was also a Mason.

Survivors include, his wife, Jan Cameron Heinley of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Donna Heinley of Embudo, N.M.; three sons, Jon Heinley & his wife Beth of Rockwall, Texas, Barry Heinley and his wife Donna of Rowlett, Texas, Jeff Cameron of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren, a sister, Syble Sawyer of Fordyce, Ark.; a niece, Beverly Sawyer Carter of Little Rock, Ark., and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Edward Heinley, and Benjamin Heinley, and one son, Marty Heinley.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday December 29, 2010 in the Stoney Point Cemetery. ROBERT “BOB” BRUCE HENSON, 73, of North Little Rock,a retired master electrician for C.I.E.C.O., passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. He was born in Little Rock, Ark., on February 21, 1937 a son of the late Raymond “ Keg”Henson and Mildred Burks Henson. Robert was a 1961 graduate of the University of Arkansas and a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Reserve, an Alumni of Lamda Chi Alpha, and a member of the Temple Hunting Club. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading Louis L’Amour books.

Robert Bruce Henson is survived by: One Son: Robert Kyle Henson and his wife, Devin Putman Henson; one daughter: Sally Ann Henson Davis; one sister: Susan Henson Brown; four grandchildren: Kagan McCoy Davis; Collin “CW” Wade Davis; Robert Drake Henson; Karsen Brooke Henson; two nieces: Deborah Scott; Karen Brown; two great-nieces: Meagan Scott; Brittany Scott.

MARY L. MAULDIN, 80, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born August 1, 1930 to Francis and Willie Munnerlyn Jones. Mrs. Mauldin was a homemaker, and a member of the Victory Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters. Cherishing her memory are her husband of 59 years, Joe A. Mauldin; one son, Roger Mauldin (Beverly) of North Little Rock; one daughter, Donna Sue Mauldin of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, David Mauldin of North Little Rock, Michael Mauldin of England, Ark., Christy White of Sherwood; one step-grandson, Mick Langley of North Little Rock; four sisters, Margie Long of Little Rock, Mae Wilkins of Sherwood, Odell Freeman of Sherwood, Wilma Weeks of North Little Rock; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and other relatives.

GAIL L. McCAMMON was born to Mary Helen and ZachariahMcCammon in Lancaster, Ohio on August 27, 1916 and died on December 27, 2010. The family moved to Arkansas County in 1919 and lived there six years before moving to Pine Bluff,Ark., in 1925. Her early education was in Pine Bluff. After graduating she spent two years as secretary to the pastor of the First Methodist Church in Pine Bluff. She was a life-long Methodist and at the time of her death she was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Having a personal relationship with Jesus was the most important part of her life. He was her best friend. She received her B.A. Degree from the then Texas State College for Women‚ now Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She received her R.N. in 1945 from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio. She spent the next six years in New York City before becoming a United States Air Force nurse serving for 20 years. She was stationed in Japan, Korea, England and France.Much of those 20 years she was stationed in the United States. After her retirement from the Air Force she volunteered in the following ministries: Methodist prison ministry at the women’s unit in Pine Bluff for nine years, volunteer at Dorcas House, and at Camp Aldersgate with the senior citizens program. Because of health reasons she reluctantly had to discontinue volunteer work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Townsend, three brothers, Rev. Robert McCammon, Rev. James McCammon, Frederick McCammon and niece, Donna McCammon. She is survived by nephews, Jim Townsend (Jane), Frederick McCammon, Kenny McCammon and Jim McCammon (Mollie); nieces, Beverly Tatman (Mac), Judith Spencer (Joe), Janelle Mc-Cammon (Raymond Rosenfeld) and Mary Susan McCammon.She was blessed with great- and great-great-nieces and nephews and she loved them all dearly.

The family expresses sincere appreciation for her Church family and for the love and kindness which was shown her. JOHN L. McGEE, 75, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Monday, December 20, 2010. He was born November 11, 1935 in Sneedsville, Tenn., to John and Elsie Goodman McGee. John was a very kind man, and was loved by everyone. He was a member of the United States Air Force, and the Amboy Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death one brother, Paul and one sister, Rose. Cherishing his memory are two nieces, Paula Scats, and Penny Bradley; nephew, David McGee; two great-nieces, Cara Scats and Danielle Bradley; great-nephew, John Paul Bradley; step-grandchildren, Laura Sarandle, Linda Stevens, and Wesley Ferguson; and special friend, Bernice Jean Ferguson.

JAMES CHARLES “JIM” MORGAN died on December 24, 2010as a result of complications stemming from an inoperable brain tumor. Jim was born on September 11, 1923 in Little Rock. Since his mother died before he was 2 years old, hespent his early childhood years with his grandparents near Timbo, Ark. Before his 7th birthday, he moved to Little Rock with his father and stepmother. He attended West Side Junior High and Little Rock High School where he lettered in football, basketball and track. He was nominated to attend the U.S. Military Academy, but during his acceptance physical it was discovered that he had tuberculosis. From the summer of 1941 until late that year, he resided at a sanatorium for TB patients.

In January 1942, Jim married Lois M. McPherson. They had two sons, Jimmie Lee Morgan, now deceased, and William D. Morgan, a current resident ofFrisco, Texas. Jim entered the Army in 1942 and served as an aircraft mechanic during World War II. After playing basketball for a short time at the University of Arkansas, Jim entered the Air Force and retired in 1963. He had tours of duty in Germany, Oklahoma, Canada, New York, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. He retired as a chief master sergeant and returned to Little Rock. There he worked for AO Smith, Dassault Falcon Jet and started three businesses. He patented two hinges and derivatives of those hinges are in the cabinetry of executive jets, commercial jets, yachts and trains.He continued working with the hinge business until late 2009. In 1965, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in several positions for the remainder of his life. He loved sharing his beliefs about the gospel with others. In 2004, his first wife died after 62 years of marriage. He later married Billie Nicholas, but she died within several months of their wedding.

In 2006, he moved to Frisco, Texas, to be near his son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Vaughan Morgan and his grandchildren, Angela Romney and husband, Kimball, Suzanne Morgan, and three great-granddaughters, Maya, Adrienne and Morgan Romney. In addition to those family members, he is survived by his brother, Richard Morgan of Conway, Ark., and his extended family, as well as his brother-in-law, Dave McPherson of Alexander, Ark., and his family.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13901 Quail Run Drive, Little Rock, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. WILLIAM THOMAS “BILL” ODOM, 72, of Avilla Communitypassed from this world December 28, 2010. Bill was born on September 15, 1938 in Benton, Ill., He was 72 years old. He was a devoted husband, married 46 years to his loving wife, Jo Ann Odom.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Leon Odom; mother, Blanche Odom his brother, Robert Odom; and sister, Wanda Marvel, all of Illinois. Bill was survived by his wife, Jo Ann Odom; two sons; Matt Odom and wife Cindy and William Odom Jr., a daughter, Rhonda Odom Vincil and four grandchildren; Aaron and Jessica Vincil, Emily and Katie Odom as well as a sister of Indiana, Dorothy Simpson and his “sis”, Alice Odom of Sparta, Ill. Bill was a true brother to all his in-laws.

He was a wonderful dad, a fun-loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a helpful neighbor and a good friend to many. His life-long hobby was the raising of registered AKC beagle puppies. Bill served in the Air Force and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He will be truly missed by us all.

Williams of Batesville, Arkansas, June 23, 1950 and was the loving mother of two sons, Dr. Mark Austin Williams and Grant Pierce Williams. She was a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was a career teacher of home economics and taught school in North Platt, Nebraska, Cave City, Arkansas and Mount Pleasant, Arkansas. She was a member of Central Avenue United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Grant Williams and wife, Marietta, Dr. Mark Williams, and wife, Janis; one sister, Virginia Schneider; four grandchildren, Adriane Everett, Austin Williams, Andrew Williams, April Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Hubbard and Noah Everett.

HOT SPRINGS - Dr. Willie Joseph “Bill” Lee, 85, Hot Springs,Ark., died Monday December 27, 2010. He was born February 4, 1925, Magnolia, Ark., to the late John & Nancy (Hammock) Lee. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas andthe University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. At age 23 he became the youngest doctor in the state and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, after which he returned to Stamps, Ark., where he practiced for 32 years. He was an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks and a member of the Bridge House for 20 years as well as being remembered as a gourmet cook.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, of 35 years, Alice (Linton) Lee, sister Norma Walker and three brothers Fred, William and Robert Lee. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Jean (Ward) Lee; four children, Brad Lee and wife Judy of Garland, Texas, Nancy Harper and husband Barry of Portugal, Douglas Ward and wife Becky of Hot Springs, Ark., and Roger Ward and wife Barbie of Arkadelphia, Ark.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

PINE BLUFF - Joan Chambliss Buckner, 84, of Pine Bluff,died Monday, December 27, 2010, in Conway. Born in Tarry, Arkansas, June 30, 1926, a daughter of the late Howard B. and Veva Dixon Chambliss, she received her early educationin Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1942. She attended Arkansas State Teacher’s College before marrying Finis Clark Buckner in Pine Bluff in 1946. Mr. Buckner died in 1988. A homemaker while her children were young, she worked at International Paper Company in their human resources area for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, an American Contract Bridge League Life Master, and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include two sons, James C. Buckner (Susan) of Pine Bluff and William L. Buckner (Vickie) of Conway; brother, Dan Chambliss (Martha) of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Lindsey Pearce, Alice Curtis, Amee Gray, and Casey Rainey; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Chambliss Jr. and Harvey Chambliss, and a sister, Glynnis Mack.

SEARCY - Nelda Burkett Angel, age 77, of Searcy, Arkansas,passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gravel Hill, Arkansas, on Wednesday, December 13, 1933. She was a 1951 graduate ofRose Bud High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. Burkett and Coyle Burkett; her sister, Jean Calhoun; and her brothers, Hulan Burkett, Berthold Burkett, and Leo Burkett. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Angel; and her sons, Greg Angel and wife, Robbie and Rick Angel and wife, Valerie; her loving grandsons, Tyler, Drew, Adam and Zachary. She is also survived by her sister, Nell Taylor and her brother, John Burkett; and her special nieces, Paula Bell and Pam Howe and a special nephew, Robert Taylor; and host of family and friends. Nelda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She treasured her family and the times they were all together. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Searcy, Arkansas and a member of the Murray Sunday School Class.

TEXARKANA, Texas - Doctor Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, age 86,died Monday, December 27, in a Texarkana hospital. Doctor Hamilton was born March 23, 1924, in Augusta, Arkansas, and has lived in Texarkana since 1975 when she moved from Leavenworth, Kansas. Doctor Hamilton graduated from high school in Augusta, Arkansas, with the highest marks ever earned in that school and went on to graduate from junior college in 1944. She attended Arkansas State Teachers College to continue work on a degree in business education and began her teaching career at Lepanto High School in Lepanto, Arkansas. Doctor Hamilton completed her undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Doctor Hamilton retired in 2005 after 25 years as an Associate Professor of Education at Southern Arkansas University where she also directed the University’s Curriculum Center and the Rosemary Rea Regional Arts in Education Center. She was a member of the Arkansas Archaeology Society and sponsored summer programs for AEGIS students; summer Enrichment for Gifted and programs through the Elderhostle and for Arts in Education featuring many regional artists. Doctor Hamilton was the recipient of the ArkansasArts Council’s 1994 Arts in Education Award. She was a member of the National Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Lions Club of Magnolia, the Quota Club of Magnolia, Elks of Texarkana, and the Eastern Star. Dr. Hamilton traveled extensively in the US and Europe; and, as an avid Democrat, attended Clinton White House events in 1996 and 2000.

Dr. Hamilton is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hamilton and a great granddaughter Lecy Fowler. She is survived by daughters, Carla Nakata McBee and her husband Lee McBee of Lawrence Kansas, Leslie L. Hamilton of Texarkana, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Donna Hamilton of Escondido, California, and daughter Mary Janine Hamilton of Texarkana; a sister, Virginia Boyles of Augusta, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Angela Nakata and Gregory Nakata of Kansas City Missouri, Jessica Hamilton of Escondido California, and Rachel Lear of Texarkana; as well as four great-grandchildren, Gregory Fowler, Michael Hamilton,Carl Hamilton and Oliver Lear as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Reverend Russell Wilkins officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Monday at Augusta Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Arkansas under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.
