The Perry County community of Toad Suck was labeled in a story by Yahoo.com as having the "most unfortunate town name."

The unincorporated town about 45 minutes northwest of Little Rock was given the title after a poll given across seven English-speaking countries determined that the rural community beat out other towns such as Climax, Ga., and Boring, Ore.

The poll was conducted through a genealogy website, Findmypast.com.

Toad Suck derives its name from a well-known drinking location along the Arkansas River. The local boaters would "suck on the bottle 'til they swell up like toads," according to toadsuck.org. The tavern has since closed.

The town is also one of the annual hosts of Toad Suck Daze, a community festival held each spring in Conway.
