Magnolia laminating firm restarts, plans to hire more

— The Magnolia-based company that made the soaring wooden arches for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville is back in business.

A group of investors has purchased the former Unit Structures LLC and is again doing business under the name Arkansas Laminating LLC.

The company has operated in Magnolia for about a half century, but it shuttered after changing hands last year.

Arkansas Business reports the company has 55 people on the job now, with plans to expand to 100 workers.

Arkansas Laminating Executive Vice President Gary Burley says the firm is hiring civil engineers, draftsmen and workers for industrial positions.

The company assembles lumber to create structures for building projects. It also supplied the wooden arches for the River Market in Little Rock.
