Spain’s key rate hits euro-era high of 6.81%

Spain’s benchmark borrowing rate Tuesday hit its highest level since the country adopted the euro currency, after ratings agency Fitch downgraded 18 banks, and investors found more questions than answers in the country’s decision to seek help for its ailing banks.
