Authorities search Friday afternoon for an armed and dangerous man along Highway 365 in Maumelle near Palarm.

Authorities reported they have captured a man after a multiple-hour manhunt along Highway 365 north of Maumelle.

Lt. Carl Minden of the Pulaski County sheriff's office confirmed that multiple law enforcement officers pursued a man, later identified as 40-year-old Kenneth Alexander, following a disturbance call north of Maumelle.

Alexander has been taken to the hospital to be examined but is expected to be fine, Minden said. No officers were seriously wounded during the altercation. A bullet grazed the head of a canine on the scene, Minden said, but the dog is expected to be fine.
