LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas at Little Rock announced Tuesday morning that Angela Laird Brenton, UALR's Dean of the College of Professional Studies, is leaving for a position at Western Carolina University.

Brenton, who has been at UALR for the past 29 years, recently accepted the position of Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Western Carolina in Cullowhee, N.C.

Brenton will take over the position effective Aug. 1. She has been dean of the college since 2001.
