Autopsy results, evidence released in Zimmerman case

— Trayvon Martin's autopsy results were among a large amount of evidence released by prosecutors on Thursday as part of the second-degree murder case against the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot him in February.

Martin’s autopsy shows evidence of marijuana in his urine and blood.

Also in the package is a photo of suspect George Zimmerman with a bloody nose taken the night of the fight. A paramedic report says Zimmerman had a 1-inch laceration on his head and forehead abrasion.

Zimmerman has claimed self-defense and said he only fired because the unarmed teenager attacked him. He is awaiting trial and has pleaded not guilty.

The photo and reports were among an evidence package that also includes 911 calls, video and numerous other documents. The package was received by defense lawyers earlier this week and released to the media on Thursday.

A police report says Martin had $40.15, Skittles candy, a red lighter, headphones and a photo pin in his pocket. He had been shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truth based upon facts is now emerging and the story as presented by a lot of the media and pushed by certain groups is being destroyed. This is a sad case where mis-use of guns was shot into the air into a racial story. Black vs. White, Black vs. Hispanic. Fair and balanced, truthful none of this seems to matter anymore when you think you can prove a point, provoke hatred and make money.

TRACY DE JONG Populist says...

Zimmerman said plenty of outrageous things about how Trayvon looked "suspicious" to indicate that this was a case of racial profiling. People are outraged about this case not just because of the racial connotations, but also the who gun culture macho aspects. Grown men should not be chasing people with guns unless they are police officers. They especially should not be chasing youth. Why did the police perform a drug test on the victim but not the shooter? This shows racial bias by the police.

The fact that Trayvon got some licks in on Zimmerman is a mitigating factor, but does not wholly excuse Zimmerman. When you go chasing people with a gun and the person ends up dead, you've got at least some degree of negligent homicide or manslaughter. It is against public policy for the gun people to be patroling around our neighborhoods with guns. They may intend to stop crime, but they mistakenly end up in a fight with somebody's kid and shoot him. They may intend to shoot a feral cat and instead shoot a neighbor. Or in the case of Dick Cheney, he may have intended to shoot an animal and instead shot a friend in the face. Macho men (that includes Packman and Harley), please be careful with your guns!

Evidence and facts won't matter here, this case has been racially pillaged from our legal system by interlopers. Or it might be that our legal system has been pillaged by interlopers.

You are right Jack, once again people let the media and Jessie and Al sway their opinion before all the facts were in. I pretty much agreed with Bill Cosby, the case is about guns and adequate training. It seems from the evidence released that the prosecution's case is getting weaker by the day.

@Populist ... You repeatedly use the term "chasing" as if one party was some distance away from the other. The bloody nose makes this sound if they had a confrontation, due to the fact that they must have been close enough for one to have touched the other.

And saying that because someone finds another person "suspicious" is a clue that they are racial profiling, is just dumb. Sounds like either you suffer from past guilt or simply playing Rush and saying things to incite people.

The DemGaz just gave us a small part of this story ...Now a few more facts from ABC NEWS....
The lead investigator on the case, Officer Christopher Serino, wrote that Zimmerman could be heard "yelling for help as he was being battered by Trayvon Martin."

The autopsy also shows that Zimmerman shot Martin from a distance of between 1 inch and 18 inches away, bolstering Zimmerman's claim that he shot Martin during a close struggle.

Martin's autopsy report also revealed that there was a quarter-inch by half-inch abrasion on the left fourth finger of Martin, another indication of a possible struggle.

Who initiated the confrontation shows the matter of aggression. Turning the aggressor into a defender in an attempted assault is not a crime. Everyone on here that talks of prejudice are showing their own. Trying to say that Zimmerman has more of a right to police a street that Martin's father lives on and he does not will be a hard sell.

Levi, have you ever watched the UFC? There are lots of 175 pound guys on there who could easily whip 300 pound guys, again your math is not relevant. Yes, Zimmerman was wrong to approach him, however, Trayvon was a young man, not the 10 year old that the media keeps flashing. I still say that if the prosecution pursues a first degree murder charge, they will be throwing a softball for the defense.

Jfish: I wouldn't be so quick to say "Yes, Zimmerman was wrong to approach him" since Zimmerman was part of an organized community crime prevention group. Approaching someone would necessarily be part of the job, how else would you know if they belonged there? Even this remains to be vetted in a court of law and not our renegade bias news agency's.

KC, I believe that as a private citizen once you leave your home or your vehicle with a gun and approach someone, you are on pretty shaky ground. You are not a trained police officer and your job pretty much ends at following a suspect and calling the police. I know there are some circumstances that it might be allowed, for example if someone had just killed somebody, but Zimmerman should have never left his vehicle based on suspicion.

Populist....you can't be all that smart! Study law? You had to have failed!!!
You KEEP saying CHASING MARTIN WITH A GUN!! You are hell-bent on wanting to believe Zimmerman had his gun drawn and was running behind Martin chasing after him so he could put a bullet in him!!! Where in hell's name did you get that idea? Do you know for a FACT that a drug test wasn't run on Zimmerman? Afterall you talked earlier about Zimmerman in the police station photos not having a mark on him proving Martin didn't hit Zimmerman! What now? Photo's say different.
Thanks for your concern on my gun toting. I have been packing a gun for about 40 years. I have traveled for a living most of that time and the gun came in handy a few times. I also saved my wife and myself from harm while walking from our parked car to the gates of the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. When five black men came out of the dark alley on second ave. and explained what they wanted to do to my wife while they made me watch, I changed their minds very quickly with my Colt 38 Det. Spec. concealed in my back waistband! One shot and five runners and one a bleeder! Don't know results of bleeder but my wife and I continued on into the fair and had a great time and no excitement going back to the car later! This is a TRUE story and my now ex-wife will even vouch for it. You see, she came to not love me anymore but she sure as hell, still to this day, appreciates my actions of that time. Don't worry too much for me!!!

Populist - Even someone like youself, a purported law school graduate who obvioulsy failed "Evidence 101", should not be so blind as to recognize the facts in this sad affair. Zimmerman was not wrong to ask Martin what the kid was doing in the neighborhood. I've done the same thing near my parent's house and instead of being atttacked was treated to meeting a couple of kids headed to a friend's house for a game of basketball. The facts of their encounter are showing Martin to be the agressor and Zimmerman rightfully fearing for his life. It's been reported the shot came from less than 18' away indicating a close-quarters struggle that supports Zimmerman's statement. The evidence is also showing that evidently Martin liked a little weed with his tea and skittles. The amount of egg on your face is growing by the second....

At that point, GZ looses his right to claim self-defense as he stalked this child....
But as crooked as Fl law is, there is a good chance that they will turn their back on the murder of an unarmed child................. And the idiots will cheer this injustice!!!

Hey NoCrossNoCrown - What an idiot statement. Nobody ever gives up the right to self defense when attacked. And Zimmerman didn't stalk a "child". He stalked a young thug high on dope who attacked a guy with a gun. That's what the EVIDENCE is showing.
