Shootings minutes apart injure 2 in LR

Little Rock police are investigating separate shootings that occurred minutes apart and injured two people Monday night.

Officers responded about 8:08 p.m. to South Pine Street and West 21st Street. Witnesses told police they heard several gunshots and saw an SUV speed away from the area, according to a police incident report.

Two of the shots struck a juvenile girl. She was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to the report.

Officers recovered several bullet casings in the 2100 block of Pine Street and found a car that been shot several times, police spokesman Officer Michelle Hill said.

No suspect information or description of the SUV was available late Tuesday.

Police responded about 8:11 p.m. to another shooting at West 36th and Potter streets. They found Jason Davis, who had been shot four times.

Davis, 35, was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

Davis told investigators that he and a friend had driven to Union Park at 36th and Walker Streets, according to a police incident report. When Davis exited his car, two unidentified men driving in a white Crown Victoria purportedly fired at him.

Davis was struck in the chest, leg arm and shoulder. He was unable to provide police a description of the suspects because it was too dark outside, the report said.
