Undercover investigators began speaking to Richard Shreck, 56, of Hot Springs in an online chat room early last month, the sheriff's office reported. The investigators posed as a woman with two children, ages 8 and 10. Shreck purportedly asked about having sex with the children and arranged a meeting Tuesday at a Wal-Mart in Conway. When he arrived at the meeting about 9 p.m., he was arrested, deputies reported.

The sheriff's office reported that Shreck intended to drive the children from Conway to his lake house in Hot Springs and have sex with them.

Shreck was charged with Internet stalking of a minor. He was being held in lieu of $200,000 bond in the Faulkner County jail late Wednesday. He's scheduled to appear in court Sept. 29.
