Texarkana man gets 11 years in teen sex case

TEXARKANA — A Texarkana man who offered to pay teen boys with marijuana and cash in exchange for sex has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison.

The Texarkana Gazette reported that 22-year-old Demonta Eskew was sentenced last week to 11 years and three months. Eskew turned down a plea deal for a 10-year sentence in April but changed his mind during the first day of jury selection.

Police say the mother of a 16-year-old boy learned about her son's conversations with Eskew on Facebook and contacted police. They say Eskew agreed to meet the boy at Burger King in May 2013.

He was arrested with marijuana and three cellphones in his pockets. They say records on the cellphones revealed similar conversations with other boys.
