A man was arrested Friday after he crashed his vehicle and fled into a Little Rock daycare, police say.

About 11 a.m., police located a black Nissan Altima with a broken back window, parked at America’s Best Value Inn at 7900 Scott Hamilton, according to a Little Rock police report.

The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had been reported as stolen earlier in the week, police said.

When the the driver, Mario Greer, 29, left the hotel, police attempted to initiate a stop at Baseline Road and Reck Road.

Greer sped up and fled from officers, turning west onto Interstate 30 before driving the wrong way on a service road and losing control of the vehicle, the report states.

Greer exited the vehicle fled on foot into the Full Potential Child Development Center at 8109 Interstate 30.

The daycare was put on lockdown and construction workers in the back part of the building were evacuated while officers searched for Greer in the building, according to the report.

When officers and a police dog located Greer in a corner inside the building, he refused verbal commands to get on the ground.

While Greer attempted to flee from the dog, he walked backwards into an officer who forced Greer to the ground and took him into custody, according to the report.

The passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Kendra Wilson, was charged with obstruction after providing false information to officers, police said.

Greer was transported to the Pulaski County jail, where he told staff he “swallowed some narcotics,” the report states. Greer was transferred to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

Greer was charged with theft by receiving, fleeing, resisting arrest, two counts of failure to stop or yield, driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and attempt to influence. He’s being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $248,800 bond.
