Advocacy group to honor Clinton

EMILY’s List annual award going to ex-secretary of state

WASHINGTON -- Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be honored at a March 3 gala held by EMILY's List, an advocacy group that raises money for female Democratic candidates.

The former Arkansas first lady will receive the group's 2015 We Are EMILY Award, the group announced Thursday.

She is receiving the award because she "dedicated her life to bettering the lives of women and families and has inspired the next generation with a focus on increasing economic empowerment across the country and around the world," according to the group.

EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock has been mentioned as a possible senior campaign aide if Clinton runs for president in 2016.
