Gus's Fried Chicken safe stolen

Police are searching for someone who stole a safe from a downtown Little Rock restaurant on Saturday night.

The manager of Gus's Fried Chicken, located at 300 President Clinton Ave., told officers he walked into his office about 8:45 p.m. and noticed his chair and a computer monitor had been knocked over, according to a Little Rock police report.

The manager picked the chair and monitor up when he noticed the safe missing from a storage closet in the office, the report stated.

The manager told officers there was a door unlocked that leads from the office to the back of the restaurant for employees to get supplies from the freezer, according to the report.

Two employees were working near the safe at the time of the the theft who gave statements to the police, the report stated.

The safe, worth $300, had an undisclosed amount of cash in it at the time of the theft.

Police searched in and around the restaurant and made no arrests.
