Little Rock road closures set for next week

Lane closures are set on roads around Little Rock starting next week, city and state officials said Friday.

Starting Sunday night, construction workers welding on a pair of flyover ramps at the Interstate 430/630 Big Rock interchange will require lane closures on I-630, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement. Crews welding the I-430 South to I-630 East ramp and the I-630 West to I-430 South ramp will require closing the eastbound, outside lane of I-630 from Shackleford Road to the Baptist Health ramp, highway officials said. On April 1, crews will also shut the westbound, outside lane of I-630 from the Baptist Health exit to the I-430 overpass, the department said. Those closures are scheduled to run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through the morning of April 3.

Three other closures are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

On the Broadway Bridge between Little Rock and North Little Rock, a routine inspection will require shutting the outside lanes in each direction. The northbound lane closure will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and the southbound lane closure will run during the same hours Tuesday and Thursday, the Highway Department said.

Meanwhile, Fair Park Boulevard between Asher Avenue and 32nd Street will be reduced to two lanes to allow the installation of a water line for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 9 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Friday, the city of Little Rock said. Additionally, Millbrook Road between Charter Oak Drive and Clapboard Hill Road will be closed to through traffic during the same period for the replacement of a sewer line for Little Rock Wastewater, according to the city.
