Style: The Long Season

October has arrived, bringing with it playoff baseball and more movies with bigger dreams. Find out which hit — and which strike out — in Friday’s Style section.

Leading off, we first have Piers Marchant’s table-setting account of the recent Toronto International Film Festival, with Dan Lybarger’s profile of a Unviersity of Arkansas professor who’s a world expert on Buster Keaton following that up. Then there are seven films opening (plus Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk, which opened Wednesday), including the much-anticipated The Martian (which Marchant explores), the narco-epic Sicario (Lybarger) and the randy, sweet anti-romantic comedy Sleeping With Other People (which Philip Martin saw months ago at Tribeca).

Even more content — including Karen Martin’s weekly look at home video — can be found on our blog site, blooddirtangels.com.
