A person was shot in the parking lot of a convenience store on Mabelvale Pike in Little Rock on Tuesday evening, police said.

The victim was shot in the calf and had nonlife-threatening injuries, said officer Richard Hilgeman, spokesman for the Little Rock Police Department. The shooting took place at 5024 Mabelvale Pike on Tuesday evening, police said.

Authorities on scene Tuesday said the victim was taken to a hospital and the investigation was ongoing.

Police had a suspect in custody Tuesday evening, Hilgeman said. Neither the victim or suspect could be identified as of Tuesday night.
