Fake-police holdup suspect surrenders to Little Rock officers

A man police say impersonated a police officer in an armed robbery last month in Little Rock was arrested Monday.

Thomas Paige, 27, held up a man July 27 outside the 65th Street Stop & Shop at 6402 Butler Road, police said. Paige pulled a gun, showed the man a badge and identified himself as a police officer, according to an arrest report. Police said Paige then took about $200 from the man and fled.

Paige surrendered to police on an arrest warrant about 11 p.m. Monday, according to the report.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property and second-degree criminal impersonation. Paige was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Tuesday.

Police said a boy involved in the robbery had also been arrested. Further details weren’t immediately available.
