Beer fest to benefit Fort Smith's trails

Beer lovers are invited to the Fort Smith riverfront Saturday to sample cold beers, listen to music and raise money for the Fort Smith trail system.

The inaugural Bordertown Brew Fest Ales for Trails at Harry E. Kelley River Park on Saturday will feature more than 250 beers, food, outdoor/active lifestyle vendors, live music, a fun run, a Baggo tournament and a home-brewing competition.

Live music will be provided by Cutthroat Trout, The Crumbs, Earl & Them, and Groovement from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

All proceeds from the festival will be donated to Parks Partners, a nonprofit supporting the development of trails in Fort Smith.

Bordertown Brew Fest Ales for Trails is a nonprofit that provides Fort Smith with a craft beer festival. The event is produced and sponsored by by 64/6 Downtown, members of Friends of Recreational Trails and the Fort Smith business community.
