After investigation, Arkansas couple arrested; cash, drugs seized

A drug investigation involving three law enforcement agencies in Faulkner County led to the arrests of a couple charged with eight felonies, the sheriff's office said Wednesday.

Larry Meeks, 38, and his wife, Anna Meeks, 36, were arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of methamphetamine, ecstasy, Xanax and drug paraphernalia; simultaneous procession of drugs and firearms and maintaining a drug premises, according to sheriff's office spokesman Adam Bledsoe.

In addition to the sheriff's office, an "extensive investigation" was conducted by units of 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the University of Central Arkansas Police Department, according to a news release.

The release said the couple had ecstasy and Xanax worth more than $1,000 and that cash and vehicles were also seized from the couple.

Citing the nature of the investigation, Bledsoe said more information about what led police to the couple could not be released Wednesday.
