Randen Caruthers, 18, and Desmond Patton, 18, were both sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. Each was given an additional 10-year suspended sentence, records filed with the Circuit Court show.

The teenagers were originally charged with capital murder, aggravated robbery and engaging in violent criminal group activity after they shot Kennon Daniels, 20, during a June 22, 2015, robbery.

Police said the three men robbed Arthur Parnell, 27, at Parnell's East McHaney Drive home in south Blytheville. During the robbery, several shots were fired and Daniels was hit, said Capt. Scott Adams, commander of the Blytheville Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.
