Benjamin Dewayne Scott, 22, faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated residential burglary after police said he and Mario Jashon Stafford, 19, of Jonesboro, entered a home and demanded money, Jonesboro Police Department spokesman Paul Holmes said.

Police have issued a warrant for Stafford's arrest, and he is considered armed and dangerous, Holmes said.

Kayla K. Vinson, 24, died and Donald J. Versey, 28, was injured when two men knocked on the door of their home at 401 N. Second St. and forced their way inside. Police said the suspects shot both before fleeing.

Vinson was pronounced dead at the scene, Holmes said. Versey was taken to a Jonesboro hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police asked anyone with information about Stafford to call the Jonesboro Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (870) 935-6710 or the city's Crime Stoppers at (870) 935-7867.
