India to phase out 'petcoke' buy

But it seeks to ease curbs on dirty-fuel use near New Delhi

Thick smog last month blankets New Delhi, which has been choking on pollution in recent weeks as air quality deteriorates near the end of the year.

India's government says it plans to phase out imports of a dirty fuel known as petroleum coke, or "petcoke," after an Associated Press investigation found U.S. oil refineries are exporting vast quantities of the product to India.
