Hot Springs police identify victims of Dec. 5 triple homicide

HOT SPRINGS -- Police have identified all three victims of a triple homicide whose bodies were found Dec. 5 in a Hot Springs residence during a police welfare check.

Based on state Crime Laboratory identifications, police released Tuesday the names of two of the deceased -- Dory Ann Power, 46, and Brenda Sue Lawson, 60, both of Hot Springs. On Monday, police released the name of the third person -- Paul D. Power, 40.

Police found the Powers and Lawson dead about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in a residence at 208 Nevada St. Detectives began a homicide investigation. The next day Nicholas Matthew Lewondowski, 34, of Hot Springs was arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder in the case.

Lewondowski, who was on parole at the time of the slayings, pleaded innocent to all three counts Friday in Garland County District Court via video from the Garland County jail, where he was being held without bail. If convicted of the charges, he could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

A gag order limiting pretrial publicity in the case was issued Friday. A felony review hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
