Guys and Dolls Jr.

The Royal Theatre's Young Players will stage Guys and Dolls Jr. (music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling, based on stories by Damon Runyon), 7 p.m. today-Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. The 39 Steps

The Town Cryers, a Hot Springs-based traveling troupe with the goal of bringing live theater to underserved towns and venues in the area, is staging The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the Alfred Hitchcock classic film (original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon), 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday and July 21-22 at Life Center Arts, 315 Park Ave., Hot Springs (the one-time Vapors building). The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's July "Walks Through History" tour focuses on downtown Searcy, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the White County Courthouse, 300 N. Elenore Vena and Kayla Baker will put on a presentation titled "Tinctures and Balms From Your Own Gardens," 9 a.m. Saturday at Mount Holly Cemetery, 1200 Broadway, Little Rock. The talk is part of the Downtown Dames' monthly (April-October) Mount Holly Garden Series.
