A 37-year-old Little Rock man is accused of trying to rob a convenience store, authorities said.

It happened shortly after 8:15 a.m. at the Golden Food Store at 1201 S. Woodrow St., according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The clerk told investigators a man had his hands in his pockets as though he had a gun while demanding "all you got," the report said.

The worker didn't hand over anything and instead grabbed a baseball bat while initiating a robbery alarm and telling the assailant that police were arriving, the report said.

The would-be robber then left the business.

Authorities searched the area and located a suspect about a block away.

The suspect was identified by police as Derrick Morgan. Authorities say he told them he had a gun on his person, though none was found, and he wouldn't divulge his date of birth.

Morgan was booked into the Pulaski County jail, where he remained Monday morning with bail not yet set. He faces charges of aggravated robbery and obstructing governmental operations.
