'Hidden No More'

"Hidden No More," an exhibition of works depicting how blacks have shaped Arkansas' history, opens with a reception, 6-8 p.m. today at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. Ninth St., Little Rock. The exhibition includes material from the center's 2017 Creativity Arkansas Collection -- works by Brandon Maddox, LaToya Hobbs, Joshua Asante, Angela Davis Johnson, Ariston Jacks, Danny Campbell, Rex DeLoney, Cicely Trice, Donnell Williams, Sondra Strong and Danny Broadway -- and pieces from the museum's permanent collection. The reception offers refreshments, music and a chance to meet some of the artists. The exhibition will be on display through the end of the year. Equinox Orchestra

The Savannah, Ga.-based Fabulous Equinox Orchestra will join the University of Arkansas at Monticello's Jazz Band One for a concert at 7:30 p.m. today in the UAM Fine Arts Center, Monticello. Admission is free. Call (870) 460-1060.

History sandwich

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's "Sandwiching in History" tour will visit the Gustave Kleinschmidt House, 621 E. 16th St., Little Rock, at noon Friday. The house, built about 1907, is an example of Colonial Revival architecture. It joined the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. Admission is free. Hot Springs festival

The seventh annual Hot Water Hills Music and Arts Festival will feature music, a handmade art fair, food, drink, contests and activities for children, Friday-Saturday in Hill Wheatley Plaza, at the south end of Bathhouse Row, 629 Central Ave., Hot Springs. The musical lineup includes Couch Jackets, Itchy-O, Ryan Sauders, Claire Morales, May the Peace of the Sea Be With You, Walker Lukens, Dazz & Brie, Nervous Curtains and Vodi. 'Fall Patterns'

"Fall Patterns," including acrylic-on-board paintings by Dustyn Bork, abstract paintings by Donnie Copeland, sculptures by Robert Fogel and paintings by Laura Raborn, goes on display at Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827 A Central Ave., Hot Springs, with a reception, 5-9 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the city's monthly Gallery Walk. Herb festival

The Ozark Folk Center State Park, 1032 Park Ave., Mountain View, hosts its 28th annual Herb Harvest Fall Festival, today-Saturday, connecting the herbs and foods of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Basin to the Ozarks. A "Lavish Herbal Feast" features a taste of the Caribbean at 6 p.m. today with a garden party reception, sponsored and produced by the Herb Society of America Ozark Unit. Cost is $30. Also at the Ozark Folk Center this weekend, the Savoy Family Cajun Band -- Marc (squeezebox) and Ann Savoy (guitar) and their sons, Joel (fiddle) and Wilson (keyboards) -- performs, 2-3 p.m. in the Craft Village and 7:30 p.m. in the Music Auditorium on Saturday at Ozark Folk Center State Park, 1302 Park St., Mountain View. Angel One event

Arkansas Children's Hospital's Angel One Transport Team hosts the sixth Annual Angel One 5K/10K, 8 a.m. Saturday at Two Rivers Park, 6900 Two Rivers Park Road, Little Rock. Family-friendly activities will include a bounce house and the Angel One ambulance and helicopter (weather permitting). Kid-friendly costumes are encouraged during the races, and medals will be available for all participants. Registration fee is $25 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K. Register online at angelonerun.com. Proceeds go toward funding long-distance travel to and from the hospital for children and their families.

Fall Fest
