Your Voice, Your Views

CONWAY — The Arkansas Network for Justice will host a community event — Your Voice, Your Views — at 2 p.m. at the Faulkner County Library. The Network invites everyone to join a conversation and listening session about the death penalty. Faulkner County Retired Teachers Meeting

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Retired Teachers will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Activity Center, 1719 Robinson Ave. The program will be by Charlotte Strickland, the University of Central Arkansas director of professional development and training. Matt Hughes of Hughes and Associates will be at the meeting to answer questions.

Trombone Choir Concert

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas trombone choir, BearBones, will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. The performance will include “Celebration,” by Walter Hartley; “Seven Trombones of the Apocalypse,” by Santiago Miguel Alarcón; “O Sacred Head,” by J.S. Bach; “6.35,” by Steven Verhelst; “Musical Sequences” by Vladislay Blazhevich; “Full Tilt,” by Anthony DiLorenzo; “Inveni David,” by Anton Bruckner; and “Olympic Fanfare,” by John Williams. Immigration Service Fair

CONWAY — An Immigration Service Fair will take place from 7-9 p.m. at UCA Downtown, 1105 Oak St. This session will inform students and community members about how they can become more involved in working with organizations that help immigrant communities. The session will include discussions from students and faculty members who have engaged in service-learning projects, as well as a service fair, in which attendees can learn more about various organizations. Presentation of the Baha’i Faith

CONWAY — A presentation of the Baha’i Faith, a religion based upon the unity of mankind, will take place at 2 p.m. at the Faulkner County Library, 1900 Tyler St. The presentation is in commemoration of the bicentenary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, the founder of the Baha’i Faith. Rose Show

CONWAY — The Central Arkansas Rose Society will hold its 49th annual rose show from 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, 150 Amity Road. All are welcome to exhibit blooms in the show. Fill the Truck

MORRILTON — The Conway County Care Center will stock its food pantries through the Harvest of Hope Food Drive, which will include a Fill the Truck event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Haynes Homes Center, 4 Davis Drive, near Kroger. All are asked to help by volunteering at the site or contributing nonperishable food items. Automotive Care 101

CONWAY — Automotive Care 101 will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. at Hines Service Center, 798 Sixth Ave. The class will teach participants about safety, checking fluid levels, changing the oil, maintaining a car’s cooling system, changing a flat and more. Spaghetti and Sausage Dinner

ST. VINCENT — The St. Mary’s Altar Society will sponsor its annual fall spaghetti and sausage dinner from 5-8 p.m. in the Parish Hall of St. Mary Church. The all-you-can-eat dinner costs $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 10. Children 5 and younger may eat free. The menu includes slaw, green beans, homemade bread and pie. Adult takeout meals will be available. The event will feature a bake sale, a country kitchen and a silent auction. The church is 10 miles north of Morrilton on Arkansas 95. Food for Fines Program

MORRILTON — The Conway County Library, 101 W. Church St., will offer its Food for Fines Program through Oct. 31 so that patrons can help others while taking care of fines for overdue library materials. Patrons may donate nonperishable food items when returning overdue materials to erase the fine for that item, as well as other fines. Each food item represents $1, and up to 10 items may be used to cancel up to $10 of fines. Food may not be used to waive charges for items that are lost. Additional donations are encouraged, as well as food items from those who do not have fines. For more information, call (501) 354-5204.

Humane Society Benefit Bingo

GREENBRIER — Bingo, sponsored by the Humane Society of Faulkner County, takes place every third Friday at the Melton Cotton City Event Center, 5 Lois Lane. Conway League of Artists Fall Show and Sale

CONWAY — The Conway League of Artists Fall Show and Sale has the theme Arkansas: Its People, Flora, Fauna or Vistas. The artwork will be on display through Friday at the Faulkner County Library. Orange Art Exhibit

CLINTON — The North Central Arkansas Artist League’s Orange art exhibit is on display through Nov. 6 at Ozark Health Medical Center, 2500 U.S. 65 S. The nearly 50 paintings by 12 artists include watercolors, acrylics, oil paintings, pen and ink, and pointillism, all using the color orange somewhere in the art. The Outpatient Wing display downstairs can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the Cafeteria display, in the hallways upstairs near the cafeteria, is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

Bluegrass Music Night

HEBER SPRINGS — Heber Springs Christian Church, 1101 N. Broadway St., offers a bluegrass music night from 6:30-8:30 every Tuesday. Musicians are invited to participate. Free coffee will be available.

Yoga Class at the Library

CONWAY — Danny Mize, registered yoga instructor, teaches a yoga class at 6 p.m. Thursdays at the Faulkner County Library. Mize’s class focuses on feeling good in one’s body and letting go of life’s stress while listening to music. Yoga practitioners of all skill levels, especially beginners, are welcome in the class. Faulkner County Coin Club Meetings

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Coin Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Ola and John Hawks Senior Wellness and Activity Center, 705 E. Siebenmorgen Road. The 5 p.m. dinner is optional, and a $6 donation is suggested for those 60 and younger. Friends of the Library Annual Meeting

MORRILTON — The Friends of the Library’s annual meeting will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Conway County Library, 101 W. Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society Meeting

Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live!

CONWAY — Jack Hanna will bring his Into the Wild Live! to the University of Central Arkansas’ Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27. The performance will include around 15 live animals, Hanna’s humorous stories and footage from his travels. Market Place Rummage Sale

MORRILTON — First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Chestnut St., will present a Market Place Rummage Sale on Nov. 2-4. Russellville Christmas Parade

RUSSELLVILLE — The 2017 Russellville Christmas Parade has been set for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. The rainout date is Dec 11. All entries must have a Christmas theme. Parade entry forms are available at the Recreation and Parks Department office, 1000 E. Parkway, or at www.russellvillearkansas.org. Entry fees are $25 for a float, and $100 for a commercial entry other than a float. Entry forms are required. The deadline to enter is noon Dec. 4.
