Gentry teen among five killed in Oklahoma crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said five teenagers, including one from Gentry, were killed when their vehicle crashed into a creek in northeastern Oklahoma.

Lily Murphy, 18, of Gentry; Donovan Caldwell, 18, of Muskogee, Okla.; Jessica Swartwout, 18, of McAlester, Okla.; Drake Wells, 19, of Thackerville, Okla.; and Rhianna Seely, 18, of Salina, Okla., died at the scene of the crash near Tahlequah.

Tahlequah is about 40 miles west of Lincoln.

Caldwell was driving the pickup shortly before 10:45 p.m. Sunday when it went off the road and struck a guardrail, according to an accident report. The truck veered across the road, slammed through a guardrail and plummeted about 35 feet into the creek, landing on its top.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
