Police are seeking a vandal who drove a truck through a cemetery in rural Craighead County on Tuesday night.

Deputies responded to Trinity Cemetery in Bono on Wednesday after someone drove a large truck through the grounds, according to a sheriff's office report. The truck pushed over seven or eight tombstones, breaking some of them and causing an estimated $5,000 worth of damage.

Investigators saw tire prints in the dirt and found a Harley-Davidson vanity plate that they believe broke off from the truck. They plan to use that evidence to attempt to identify the vehicle, authorities said.

The offense is first-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

There are no suspects at this time, the report said.
