Shrek The Musical

CONWAY — Red Curtain Theatre will present Shrek The Musical at 2 p.m. in Staples Auditorium at Hendrix College. Kristen Sherman of Conway directs the show, with choreography by Olivia Stephens and music direction by Kent Britton, both of Conway. The theater is partnering with Conway High School’s Certain Little Free Pantry, and nonperishable food items and toiletries can be dropped off at the Shrek performance and will be presented to CHS teacher Crystal Certain. Women’s Self-Defense

MORRILTON — The Morrilton Chamber of Commerce, 115 E. Broadway St., will present Women’s Self-Defense from 9 a.m. to noon. In a safe, supportive, fun environment, women will learn hands-on skills to help protect themselves. Participants are asked to wear comfortable workout attire. Water and snacks will be provided. Spaghetti Supper and Bake Sale

ST. VINCENT — Knights of Columbus Council 10908, located 9 miles north of Morrilton on Arkansas 95, will host its annual spaghetti and meatball supper at 5 p.m. Green beans, coleslaw and desserts will also be available. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger may eat free. Adult takeout meals are $10. Fall 2018 ATU Campus Tours

Fairfield Bay Farmers Market

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays at the Village Mall Gazebo. Neighbor’s Table

RUSSELLVILLE — Neighbor’s Table is a free meal from noon to 1 p.m. every Saturday at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 501 S. Phoenix Ave. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. with free coffee. All are welcome to attend this no-pressure, no-questions-asked free lunch. Neighbor’s Table now sends home sack lunches to guests who come for lunch. All Saints’ has a Loaves and Fishes ministry, which accepts Sunday-morning offerings at the altar of necessities such as cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, toilet paper, toiletries, hand soap and detergent to be distributed at Neighbor’s Table. Community Teaching Garden

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Master Gardeners will have a community teaching garden in front of Freyaldenhoven’s nursery, at the corner of Siebenmorgen Road and Bob Courtway Drive. The group meets there at 9 a.m. the first and third Saturdays of each month through September. All are invited to attend and learn to grow their own food.

Friday Night Kruzn

Human Library

CONWAY — COHO (City of Hope Outreach) and the Faulkner County Library will bring the Human Library to the Faulkner County Library from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 25. The Human Library is a library of human beings — individuals, or “books” — each representing a group in the community that is somehow exposed to stigma, prejudice and/or discrimination.
