Fort Smith Northside 61, Little Rock Catholic 43

In its first game as the sole leader of the 7A-Central, Fort Smith Northside once again put its 3-point shooting skills on display in a victory over Little Rock Catholic on Friday.

The Grizzlies (18-6, 9-1), the defending 7A state champion, made 10 3-pointers in the game and built a 33-9 lead 12 minutes into the game before cruising to the easy homecoming win.

Northside, and Catholic as well, emptied their benches for much of the second half, the biggest lead being 51-26 with 3:50 left in the third period. Eleven different players scored for Northside, led by Kentrell Jacobs with 17, including four 3-pointers, which Isaiah Joe added 10.

Phillips Allison scored nine points to lead Catholic, which used a 10-4 spurt in the final 2:38 to climb to within 37-19 at halftime.

Pea Ridge 65, Elkins 47

The Blackhawks found themselves tied with Elkins at halftime, and senior guard Hayden Holtgrewe knew he had to be a better facilitator in the second half if he wanted to spoil the Elks' senior night.

By the time the third quarter buzzer sounded, Holtgrewe had dished out a number of assists to a variety of scorers, and the Blackhawks came away with an impressive victory.

One of Holtgrewe's favorite targets in the second half was junior forward Mikey Mahoney, who proved to be a mismatch on the boards and in the lane. He finished with 16 points.

Junior guard Nick Coble led the Blackhawks with 17 points. Junior Kobe Rose added 14 of his own to round out the double-digit scoring for Pea Ridge. For Elkins, senior guard Ethan Hipps poured in 18 points, followed by junior Chad Graham with 10.

Ozark 53, Charleston 52

Charleston got a basket on its final possession of the game, but it wasn't the one needed to send the game to overtime.

The Tigers had the ball down by three points with 8.6 seconds left. Charleston missed a 3-point attempt but got an offensive rebound and a putback, allowing Ozark to hold on for the victory.

Ozark (21-4, 9-4 was led by senior Grant Needham's game-high 16 points on senior night at the Hillbillies Activities Center.

The offense was balanced with Ethan Masingale adding 15 points, while Ethan Dorrough chipped in 13 for the Hillbillies.

Charleston's Kaleb Fisher scored a team-high 14 points. Brayden Ross had 12, Chase Ewing finished with 11 and Jacob Green added 10 for the Tigers (16-6, 12-2).

Omaha 62, Western Grove 59

Omaha finished its regular season unbeaten against in-state teams, but it took a fourth-quarter rally for the Eagles to do so.

Omaha (33-1) outscored Western Grove 21-13 over the final 8 minutes to complete the come-from-behind win at home.

Garrett Matlock scored 28 points, including 10 of 14 from the free-throw line, to lead the Eagles while Seth Lippe added 13. Hunter Baker was the only Western Grove player in double figures, finishing with 36.

Omaha is the top seed in the 1A-1 Northwest Conference Tournament, which will be played in Alpena, and will play Tuesday against Monday's winner between Lead Hill and Decatur. Western Grove is the second seed in the 1A-1 East Conference Tournament at North Arkansas College in Harrison and will play at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Decatur 41, Mulberry 34

Decatur jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter and held off Mulberry to take a non-district victory Friday.

Taylor Haisman had 13 points and Levi Newman 12 for Decatur (6-18), which opens the 1A-1 Northwest Conference Tournament play Monday against Lead Hill in Alpena. Tyler Rice led Mulberry (10-19) with 11 points.

Jasper 64, Norfork 53

Jasper built a 33-21 halftime lead, then went on to post a win over Norfork in a non-district game at Jasper.

Caleb Carter had 20 points for the Pirates (13-17), who led 42-32 after three quarter, while Chance Pruitt added 14 in his first game back after a December knee injury.

Jasper opens 1A-1 East Conference Tournament play as the third seed and will play St. Joe at 6 p.m. Monday in first-round action.

Lincoln 63, West Fork 52

The Wolves opened the game with Brance Sugg's three-point play and ended with Troy Sugg's three-point play.

Sugg's 20 points, including a three-point play with 22 seconds left to seal the win. The Wolves had balanced scoring with Sterling Morphis and Braden Umberson scoring 13 apiece.

West Fork got a game-high 22 points from junior guard Brenon Burks and Mason Ramey added 13.

Providence Academy 51, McDonald County, Mo. 30

The Patriots used a stifling defense on the road, holding the home team to 6 points in both the second and third quarters.

Providence Academy (18-12) senior Riley Fox was 4 of 6 from beyond the arc as he led all scorers with 18 as the Patriots won their seventh straight game. Cooper Reece led McDonald County with 9.

Mountainburg 39, Eureka Springs 36

The Dragons (12-11) earned a close victory as Winston Shepherd scored 16 points.

Garrett Cross scored 19 for the Highlanders (16-11) and Carter Drennon added 10.

North Little Rock 68, Fort Smith Southside 51

Moses Moody finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 5 blocked shots to lead host North Little Rock (20-5, 8-2) over Fort Smith Southside (12-12, 4-6) in a 7A-Central Conference game. Justin Thrower's three-pointer at the buzzer gave the Charging Wildcats a 42-30 lead at halftime. Ike Moore led the Mavericks with 20 points while Taye Gatewood added 12 points.

Prairie Grove 73, Haas Hall 49

The Tigers got a game-high 28 points from Will Pridmore in a 3A/4A District 1 win on Thursday.

Rhett Owen led the Mastiffs (5-15, 5-12) with 18.

Girls

Gravette 64, Greenland 56

Kyrstin Branscum had 22 points as Gravette secured the No. 2 seed in the 4A-1 Conference Tournament with a win at Greenland.

Cally Kildow added 12 and Shylee Morrison 11 for the Lady Lions (19-6), whose game against Haas Hall Academy was cancelled Saturday because of inclement weather. Fiona Wilson had 25 to lead Greenland, followed by Myae Mason with 19.

Prairie Grove 44, Haas Hall 16

Eleven players scored for Prairie Grove (16-10), which held Haas Hall scoreless in the second quarter and led 31-6 at halftime.

The victory followed a makeup game on Wednesday at Pea Ridge, where Prairie Grove won 47-44. Emily Grant scored 18 points and Larisha Crawford 13 to lead the Lady Tigers.

Providence Academy 56, McDonald County, Mo. 52 (OT)

The Lady Patriots earned an overtime win as Faith Curry hit 5 of 6 free throws in the extra period.

Providence Academy (19-10) built a 10-point lead at halftime before the Lady Mustangs came storming back in front of a packed gym on homecoming night.

Curry scored 22 points along with Haley Kate Webb to lead the Lady Patriots.

Providence Academy will take on Clarksville on Tuesday. The game will be played at John Brown University in Siloam Springs.

Lincoln 34, West Fork 32

Jessica Goldman's putback with three seconds left helped the Lady Wolves earn a road win Friday night.

Kendall Hayes hit the front end of a one-and-one with under a minute left to give West Fork (10-14, 5-8) a 32-30 lead before Lincoln's Tanner Robb scored inside to tie the game at 32-32 with 35.6 seconds left.

Robb came away with a steal to get the ball back for Lincoln (15-12, 10-8). Robin Kirk put up a shot underneath that missed, but Goldman was there for the rebound and putback for the game-winner.

Brooke Tedford made a trio of 3-pointers and led West Fork with 11 points. Goldman had 11 points for Lincoln.

FS Northside 59, Mount St. Mary 31

The Lady Bears (21-2, 8-1 7A-Central) led 21-0 after a quarter and easily dispatched of the Belles (2-20, 1-9) to remain in a tie for first place with North Little Rock.

Next week, Northside goes to third-place Conway, then hosts North Little Rock.

The Lady Bears pulled away to a 36-9 halftime lead and led by more than 30 points in several instances in the second half.

Sara Bersher's game-high 14 points paced Northside, which had 14 players score. Allison Allgood's 10 points led Mount St. Mary.

Elkins 49, Pea Ridge 41

Tink Harris nailed two free throws with 29 seconds left to help Elkins earn a tough victory.

The Lady Elks found themselves in a dogfight after the first quarter, as Pea Ridge matched Elkins' intensity. Much of the Lady Blackhawks' success was a result of senior guard Sunny Olson's strong 11-point first-half performance. Their press forced Elkins into a number of turnovers, but the home team settled down and took care of the ball.

Harris finished the game with 15 points and senior forward Sarah Parrish scored 10. Olson finished with 13 for the Lady Blackhawks, followed by junior guard Katelyn Swope with 10.

Ozark 54, Charleston 19

Make it 23 in a row and an undefeated regular season for the Ozark Lady Hillbillies.

Senior starters Lauren Lane, Ariel Walker and Hannah Ladd got the offense going early without classmate Meagan Harris, who missed the game because of illness.

The seniors scored the initial 16 points of the game for the Lady Hillbillies on senior night.

Walker finished with a game-high 16 points for Ozark (23-0, 12-0). Ladd added 13 points, while Lane chipped in 11 for the Lady Hillbillies, the last unbeaten girls team in the state.

Charleston (17-7, 10-2) was led by Hattie Newhart's 11 points.

North Little Rock 66, Fort Smith Southside 32

Yo'Myris Morris scored 19 points as the Lady Charging Wildcats (20-3, 9-1 7A-Central Conference) routed the Lady Mavericks (3-17, 2-8) in North Little Rock. Amber Hawkison added 13 points for the Lady Charging Wildcats, who have won eight consecutive games. North Little Rock never trailed, leading 24-8 after one quarter, 39-17 at halftime and 59-22 at the end of the third quarter. Kelly Carson led Southside with 14 points.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Ecclesia College 6, Graceland 5

A throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed two runs to score as the Royals walked-off Graceland at home Friday at Tyson Park.

Graceland scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-4 lead as Ecclesia pitcher Jacob Martinez failed to hold the lead.

But the Royals (4-4) answered back in the bottom of the inning as Stevie Morphew singled to open the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch. A walk put two runners on. Elijah Saldana put down a bunt to move the runners, but the throw to first base sailed into right field and both Morphew and Trayson LaCour scored for the win.

Martinez earned the win with a complete-game effort.

Saldana and Matt Garrison were each 2-for-3 for Ecclesia and Saldana drove in three runs.

Ecclesia College lost the first game of the doubleheader 6-3. Morphew and J.T. Stalnaker each had a double inthe loss.
