Arkansas convenience store worker robbed at gunpoint, carjacked days later, police say

One Arkansas convenience store employee was robbed at gunpoint twice within 10 days, police said Tuesday.

Fort Smith police were called to the first holdup at Park Mini Mart, 3601 Park Ave., about 7:20 p.m. Feb. 3, a news release from the department states.

The clerk told officers he was robbed by a gunman with a bandana covering his face. The assailant ran west on Park Avenue afterward, the employee said.

Police said they responded to the business again about 10 p.m. Monday. The same clerk said he had just locked up for the night and was sitting in his car when two males in masks approached, according to the release.

The robbers reportedly took out handguns and ordered the victim to unlock the store, which he refused to do. Then, the attackers ordered him out of the car, threatening to kill him if he didn't, the employee said.

When he got out, the gunmen fled in the victim's white 2008 Toyota Prius, police said.

Police believe the two robberies may be connected. No suspects have been named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the release.
