Trump denies vulgarity; talked ‘tough’ on immigration, he admits

Sens. Tom Cotton (left) of Arkansas and David Perdue of Georgia, shown in August at the White House, said Friday that they did not recall President Donald Trump using vulgar language in a meeting on immigration policy.

President Donald Trump acknowledged Friday that he used "tough" language during a meeting about a bipartisan immigration proposal that he rejected, reportedly using a vulgar term to refer to some countries.

As is usually the case, Trump refuses to be held accountable for his actions. Durbin and Graham both heard the statements and Graham even called the president out for them. Cotton, being the Trump lackey he is, doesn't recall the statements. Makes me wonder if either he's lying, which is pretty bad, or doesn't pay attention in meetings, which is equally bad. I tend to opt for the later, a very convenient way to weasel out of the matter.
...
Trump is not my president and has disgraced this office since taking the oath on the west front of the Capitol. This whole thing is just another reality TV to him and he plays to an audience that enjoys that sort of thing - the Honey Boo Boo crowd. What is disgusting is to see this crowd either defend the statements with "he's just speaking the truth" or ignorant to the deplorable nature of them.

The "It's the truth" crowd is too stupid to grasp that gratuitous insults to sovereign nations with whom we share the international stage are inappropriate and counter-productive.
*
If I show up at work one morning and start telling my co-workers that they are diseased (Haiti), lazy (Puerto Rico), hut-living (Nigeria), criminal rapists (Mexico), who live in sh*tholes (African continent, El Salvadore, Haiti) then anyone with a brain would grasp that I was failing my leadership role in building good will, better friendships, and a positive working relationship. This would be an incredibly stupid thing for me to do, and in essence it is what Trump has just done.
*
Instead of having the decency to know it is wrong and the integrity to admit it, his cultists try to obscure the inappropriateness of saying it at all by claiming it to be true.
Newsflash: There are times when unnecessarily saying something which may be true (or may not) is stupidly inappropriate.
*
To slightly paraphrase Joseph Welch's statement to Joe McCarthy, "Until this moment, President Trump, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness.Let us not assassinate these countries further. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

RB, you are being too kind to Cotton. He showed how close attention he pays to his Dear Leader in Tuesday's immigration meeting in the Cabinet Room. He howled with laughter after each utterance from trump. And he was sitting at the far end across the table from trump. How short a memory does he have not to recall a pronouncement like this, when Graham said he made his own feelings known to trump about what he said in the same room. That alone should have enshrined the incident in Cotton's mind. This does not square. Cotton is a bald-faced liar.

Trump tells the truth as dimwitted communists faux outrage and the weak-minded can't handle the truth.

And somebody tell the glowing Savior of humanity that people from Norway don't want to come to the USA because it has pretty much become a banana republic under the communists mcdaddy and that bunch. #lockthemup #buildthewall #GOTRUMPGO !!

Americans don't "owe" foreigners anything. If they want to come here, do so legally. In the past, immigrants followed the rules to get in, they didn't do so illegally. Why do you libs want so many foreigners anyway? We have enough problems without adding to them with masses flowing in without proper vetting. Other countries that have allowed uncontrolled immigration have experienced numerous problems as a result.

- Dems should agree to wall funding in exchange for DACA extension. On a per Dreamer basis, it works out to roughly 20K per head. And the wall will never get built. There should be no amnesty or auto citizenship for them But there should be a clear path over several years (ie, green card.) There should be no amnesty for their parents; they clearly broke the law. They cannot bring other family members. Get that done then focus on a broader immigration package package.

Ah gohogs, ever the xenophobe. Just part of the Trump demographic and what's wrong with this country. Throughout my tech career, I've found that people from all nations have helped contribute to the gains of our country. I spent quite a bit of time working with Indians, Asians, Europeans (Germans, Poles, Norwegians), and yes, people from the African continent. We want them because THEY help grow this country in so many ways.
...
With regard to vetting, the process put in place during the Obama administration is one of the toughest in place without limiting countries like Trump has proposed. What is funny is that in looking over the terrorist attacks in the last several years, including during his administration, nothing in his ban would have stopped one single attack. But stupidity in his demographic fails to recognize that fact and blindly follows the idiot in the WH.

I wouldn't flatter yourself, Arkansas is NEVER a first destination for anyone. 2nd poorest state and the only jobs available for immigrants are plucking feathers off a chicken at a Tyson plant or stocking shelves at Wal-Mart. Poor schools throughout the state and the sh**hole known as Little Rock that has more crime than Chicago or Detroit per capita.

Actually, not entirely true gohogs. I know that kind of rhetoric fits your nationalist xenophobic agenda, but the numbers don't bear out. The vast majority of people who have immigrated here have been completely productive and started great companies. I had the opportunity of working with many, one being Dr. G.P. Singh of San Antonio.
...
Dr. Singh immigrated from India to the US and started technology companies, rising to a highly respected level within Southwest Research Institute. He served on the FRB-Dallas board for several years and was vice chair of the San Antonio Area Foundation. I can name off MANY others, but of course you don't want to hear about those.
...
Quite franking, you can't understand the real story of immigration, including the DACA children. In all honesty, YOUR comments are pure BS and you're just too ignorant to understand why. You are a part of the problem, not the solution.

.
Let's see, my ancestors mostly came here in the late 1800s. They followed the legal processes, and they didn't receive any government handouts during their lifetimes. Their children followed the legal processes, and didn't seek or accept government handouts. Down through my generation, we have followed legal processes, and not accepted government handouts.
.
To not be hypocritical, we should insist that first and second generation immigrants should be ineligible for any form of government handouts. The Democrats would never go for this, because they want "new citizens" to put on the dole and vote consistently for the party of big handouts.

One poor fellows family has never benefited from a government handout program ,so none have gone to free public schools (could explain a lot),drew a Social Security check ,had a medical bill paid by Medicare ,drove on a free public road , drank from a public water system or pooped in a public sewer system (could also explain a lot).

GoHOg,

I live in an area where the homes are $1 million. On my cul-de-sac we have 3 Indian households, one Iranian, one Belarussian, one Chinese, and five American households. I have been to the $5 million home of a hispanic married to an Asian. I've run into numerous, well -educated Africans. My sons have Muslim friends who are quite nice. Many of the hispanic children in our community do well in school and end up attending the University of Maryland. The main problem that we have in our area is with the El Salvadoran gangs. You need to deal in facts and not Trump, racist rhetoric. The people who are on welfare are in the red states.

Facts are PopMom, how did these MS-13 thugs get into the U.S.? BTW, you're no one to criticize someone for being racist.
