Sherwood's library to close

Sherwood's Amy Sanders Library, at 31 Shelby Drive, will close beginning Jan. 22 to prepare to move into its new location.

The current library, a branch of the Central Arkansas Library System, will maintain regular business hours through Saturday.

The library is closed Sundays.

The new library's opening on a 14-acre site at 10200 Johnson Drive is expected to be in early March.

The 14,5000-square-foot library will include three study rooms, a teen area, gallery space and a 985-square-foot public meeting room.

Sherwood voters approved a 1.3-mill personal and property tax increase in November 2014 to issue bonds to fund a new library. Groundbreaking occurred last January.

The Central Arkansas Library System includes 14 branch libraries in Little Rock, Perryville and throughout Pulaski County.

More information is available on the system's website at cals.org.
