2 central Arkansas women face attempted murder charges in beating of 21-year-old, police say

Two central Arkansas women were arrested Saturday in the beating of a 21-year-old man on New Year's Day, police said.

According to a news release from the Sherwood Police Department, Kiara Gilbert, 24, and Beatrice Hadley, 21, were taken into custody after being stopped by North Little Rock police on traffic violations.

Warrants for the Sherwood residents arrests were reportedly obtained during authorities' investigation into an assault at Park Crest Apartments, 100 Manson Road in Sherwood, on Jan. 1.

Police said officers met with the 21-year-old at CHI St. Vincent - North, where he said Gilbert and Hadley beat him at his home with unidentified weapons.

The women are charged with first-degree attempted murder and first-degree domestic battery. As of Monday afternoon, they remained at the Pulaski County jail, and no bail had been set.
