Hundreds of dollars was stolen in the burglary of a North Little Rock restaurant, police say.

According to a report from the city's Police Department, officers arrived shortly at Kanpai Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, 4120 E McCain Blvd, shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities noted that the glass of a door on the business's west side had been "entirely busted out." The cash register drawer behind the bar had been pried off its tracks and opened, and the cash register drawer was missing from the kiosk at the hostess station, the report states.

According to the eatery's 64-year-old manager, the hostess cash register contained about $550 in cash, and about $15 in change was missing from the bar.

Surveillance footage showed a male thief enter the restaurant about 3:30 a.m. Sunday and walk directly to the bar, police said. He is seen prying the cash drawer open and then heading to the hostess station and taking that register, an officer wrote.

No suspects were named and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
