BENTON COUNTY

Congregation Etz Chaim in Bentonville, meets at Waterway, 4074 S.W. H St., celebrates Shabbat Shirah, the sabbath of song, with a special music service at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Cantor Sam Radwine leads the service, and Krysta Mays provides keybord music.

The congregation offers a free, three-session seminar on basic Judaism from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays. Sessions include "What We Believe," a look at the evolution of the Jewish faith, meeting this week at the Bentonville Public Library; "What We Celebrate," a look at the events and holidays observed by the Jewish people, meeting Feb. 20 at Panera Bread in Bentonville ; and "What We Pray," a look at traditional Jewish prayer and liturgy, meeting March 13 at Panera Bread in Bentonville."

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., offers a worship service with communion at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Children's programming also is available.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 12 McKissick Creek Road, Suite 1210, Bentonville, presents Chidam Iyer reading poems from his collection, "Journeys to the Whispering Heart," at noon Sunday, after the 10:30 a.m. service.

A class from 9 to 10 a.m. each Sunday explores Edwene Gaines' book The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity: A Simple Guide to Unlimited Abundance. Unity offers a weekly class with discussion and meditation around a specific reading from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

The church serves its monthly potluck after the service Jan. 28.

A new men's Bible study meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Al Meendering leads the 12-week video series, focusing on embracing and defending a biblical world view. A ladies' Bible study, led by Joanne Morris, meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

KniTTogether and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, working on projects for those in need in the community and at a hospital in the Congo.

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., sponsors the Disciple Women Fellowship at 10 a.m. today. Mary Jane Kuhlman reads the lesson: "Faith The Size of a Mustard Seed."

The Shepherd's Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. Donations of cereal are needed.

Sunday school and adult Bible classes meet at 9:45 a.m. "Ignite," a service for people who don't attend church regularly, begins at 5 p.m. each Saturday. The service is preceded by a free meal.
