• A majority of the Little Rock School Board is expected to vote Thursday night to build a new school in the northwest part of the city as a prekindergarten-through-fifth-grade elementary school -- not as a combined elementary/middle school campus. Board members who have favored a combined school to be built at Cantrell Road and Taylor Loop West conceded Saturday at a work session that they don't have enough board votes or administrative support for a combined campus on the 18.5-acre site. A combined campus would serve pupils in grades prekindergarten through eight.
