The girls 3,200-meter run was still a relatively new race in Arkansas track and field when Melissa Campbell stepped on the Sheridan High School track to run it in 1987.

I'm tired of this story. I wish these people continued success but it has run on the Arkansas Democrat Online for several weeks and so has a few other sports stories.
Old news loses readers.
