Modest Mouse, Halsey, Horan at Walmart AMP

This week at the Walmart AMP, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers:

• American indie rock band Modest Mouse performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $39.50-$61.50.

• One-named singer-songwriter Halsey, on her "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom/Final Installment" tour, 8 p.m. Friday. Soul crooner Jessie Reyez is also on the bill. Gates open at 7. Tickets are $30-$65, $25 apiece for a four-ticket "LAWN 4-PACK."

• And globetrotting One Direction member Niall Horan is bringing in his solo "Flicker World Tour," with opener Maren Morris, 7 p.m. Saturday. Doors open at 5:30. Tickets are $29.50-$107 plus fees.

Genealogy workshop

Juliana Szucs, a genealogist and senior community manager for Ancestry.com, where she has worked for more than 20 years, will be the keynote speaker for the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies' annual genealogy workshop, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock.

The workshop, geared to helping "genealogists of all levels sharpen their sleuthing skills and enlarge the scope of family history research," according to a news release, will feature sessions titled "Getting the Most From Ancestry.com," "Meet John Smith: Tracing Ancestors With Common Monikers," "Hidden Treasures on Ancestry.com" and "Mining Probates on Ancestry.com for Family History Gold."

'History Is Served'

Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock, will host the third meal in its "History Is Served: Arkansas Foodways Dinner Series," with a theme of German and Scottish influences on Territorial Arkansas foodways, 6:30-9:30 p.m. July 26. Guest chef is Capi Peck of Trio's.

Guests will start their "tour" at the Hinderliter Grog Shop with George Brothers Historic Arkansas Ale, which Stone's Throw Brewing custom-created for the museum. Dinner will be in the Museum Center.
