Little Rock man, 66, pulled from vehicle, beaten by carjackers

A 66-year-old Little Rock man told authorities he was pulled from his car and beaten by assailants who then drove off in the stolen vehicle.

It happened about 4:20 p.m. Sunday while the victim was stopped in his 2010 Toyota Corolla in a parking lot near 10th and Pine streets, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The victim told investigators two people approached, "asked for the time and a cigarette" and then pulled him from the car and beat and kicked him, the report said.

They then got in the Corolla and drove east from the area.

The victim suffered a laceration above one eye and abrasions to his elbow, authorities said, noting he was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment. Police described his injuries as minor.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
