Tornado touched down near Ozark

The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down briefly Tuesday afternoon in Northwest Arkansas.

The twister touched down about 14 miles northeast of Ozark, meteorologists said.

Fred Mullen, coordinator of the Franklin County Officer of Emergency Management, said the tornado touched down in a rural area. There were no reports of injuries or damage as of Tuesday evening, Mullen said.
