North Little Rock police: Robbers kick, 'stomp on' 65-year-old woman visiting aunt in hospice care

A 65-year-old retiree from Colorado who was in North Little Rock to visit her aunt in hospice care was attacked by two robbers who threw her to the ground and kicked and stomped on her outside the nursing home, authorities said.

The victim suffered a "severely swollen and bloodied eye" and had blood running down her neck and chest when officers arrived after 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.

The victim told investigators she was stepping out of her vehicle at 17 Parkstone Circle when two males came up, threw her to the ground and "began to kick and stomp on her face and body," authorities wrote.

The pair failed to take the woman's purse but did make off with her iPhone 6 and two keys, police said, noting they also tried to drive off in the victim's vehicle but were unable to start it. The phone was later found nearby.

The two assailants ultimately ran off as residents inside the nearby nursing home yelled from inside, the report states.

The 65-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries.

No suspects were named, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
