Lucille Davis Smith Looper, a longtime Searcy resident passed away peacefully at her home in River Oaks Village in Searcy, Arkansas, on Wednesday, September 29th. She was 91 years young, born in the Opal community on June 5, 1919. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Coleman and Bessie Bailey Davis; a brother, Jeff Davis; and her late husband, Charles Smith. She is survived by her husband of 26 and a half years, Roy Looper; her daughter, Rebecca Smith Kersh; a son, Larry Davis Smith and his wife Theresa, all of Searcy; two granddaughters, Leisa Kersh Key and her husband John of Searcy, and Bridget Smith Hawkins and her husband Shawn of Little Rock; great-granddaughter, Kendal Key of Searcy; great-grandsons, Gavin and Davis Hawkins of Little Rock. Mrs. Looper is also survived by a niece, Jane Mooser of Searcy and a host of friends. Mrs. Looper was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class. She was retired from International Shoe Company. Private family graveside services will be at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Memorial services and reception will be Saturday, October 2nd at 6 p.m. at River Oaks Village Chapel, Searcy, Arkansas.
