Alpha Lee Owens

Alpha Lee Owens, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010. She was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Pleasant Plains, Ark., to the late Booker Lee Brown and Connie Middleton Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Major (Buddy) Owens; three sons Jimmy Willford, Michael Owens, and Thomas E. Owens. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker and the mother of seven children by the age of 29. She was of the Assembly of God faith. She is survived by two sons, Daniel E. Owens and wife Christine and Paul W. Owens and wife Francis Elaine; two daughters, Vickey Pearce and husband Lewis W. Pearce, Reba Owens and Marie Owens all of Conway; three daughters-in-law, Marie Owens, Kathy Dobanovack and Jolene Fullen; seven sisters and one brother all of Michigan; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt funeral home in Conway. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wooster. With the Rev. Gary Hammer and Jim Willford officiating. The family will leave in procession to the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Luke Dickson, Michael Brown, Sam Smith, Robert Mace, Tommy Meeks, and Alan Riggins.
