Dewell Warren Gunter

Dewell Warren Gunter, age 79, of Benton passed away on Tuesday October 5, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born January 9, 1931 in Hot Springs to G. E. and Dora Hooper Gunter. Mr. Gunter was retired from Alcoa with over 37 years of service, a Master Mason of Congo Lodge # 743 and a US Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Stephanie Anderson, brothers, Clifton, Stanley, Olen, Leon Gunter, and sister, Angeline LaRiviere. He is survived by two sons, Phillip Gunter (Debbie), Little Rock; Glenn Gunter (Lisa), one daughter, Carla Anderson (Monty), all of Benton; granddaughters, Charity Olive, Nichole Edwards, Krystal Steele, Star and Stormy, grandsons, Curtis and Jessie, great-grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas, Kevin, sister, Lucille Sanders, Benton; brother, Wayne Gunter, Missouri, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ashby's.
