Edith Lorene Lewis

Edith Lorene Lewis, 75, of Temecula, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Sept 29, 2010 at the Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, Calif. Edith was born on Jan. 1, 1935 in Rogers, Ark. a daughter of Harry Harris and Martha Grace Scantland Harris. She was a Switchboard operator for the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville and had been a member of the Buckner Baptist Church in Fayetteville for 38 years, where she played the organ for 6 years. She is survived by her husband, Rufus Lewis of Temecula, Calif.; one daughter, Renee Lewis Smith and husband Greg of Murrieta, Calif.; two grandchildren, Scott Smith of Vista, Calif. and Victoria Smith Patterson of South Pasadena, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Craig Smith, Cole Patterson and Ry Patterson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Calif. at 11 a.m. Rev. Larry Mitchell will officiate the service under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.
